Pretty front yard flowers are pretty. And in my front yard.

I was already pretty into Modern Family, but this scene from the episode “En Garde” absolutely made it for me. I really can’t describe how much I love this show. Everyone’s just dysfunctional enough that it makes for awkward situations and good television, but it’s not all rageragerage “my family sucks” failure. There are some genuinely sweet moments that positively make my heart melt, and this one is by far my favorite.

Din Tai Fung is like, a solid 40% of the reason I miss Los Angeles so much.

So, for once Chris Ellis agreed to not take pictures of me. I offered him some shiny jewelry to take my place.

I know I have at least three pairs of heels that are some variant on these already in my closet, but how fucking beautiful are these?

That’s the nice thing about getting tortured in the morning: your mom feels bad for you and feeds you delicious food and takes you shopping afterward.

This is the turtle my mother and I randomly decided to adopt about a week ago. He really likes to swim frantically in one place, which usually ends up with him repeatedly hitting the glass walls of his tank. Every morning I leave for my internship, I make funny faces at him and he swims faster.

But seriously, who wants to go penguin sledding with me?

I really like to analyze songs. Like, a lot. I love to find meaning where there’s meaning to be found. I love even more to find meaning that the artist didn’t intend, but resonated with my nonetheless. But what I love more than anything else is when sometimes I actually stop myself from digging to deeply into the meaning of a song because the words are so beautifully strung together that I’m terrified that the meaning would ruin the artistry of the words for me. This is one of those songs.

Now I need to track down half the Avatar series all over again. Good thing I have Book 1 on DVD.

Things that are vastly underrated: mail of the non-electronic variety.
